    Hi,

If you say a database server like SQL Server, it is possible to use Sqlite which is an embedded database.

    https://docs.umbraco.com/umbraco-cms/reference/configuration/connectionstringssettings

There would be no need for a database server. It would be a file in the application. but conceptually Sqlite is also a database, so it would not be possible to have Umbraco without one of these types of database.
