A user is reporting a media item that should no longer exist is still accessible on its URL and has given me the URL in format e.g.
/media/vpugwy22/my-file.pdf
However if I go to the media tree and search for either:
vpugwy22
or
my-file.pdf
No results are returned. How can I find this item in the media tree?
I have also tried searching for *.pdf but again no results returned.
I then found another item in the media tree, copied its URL and again tried searching on the filename and foldername but again no results were returned.
Should I be able to search on the filename and/or folder name?
I have reset the Memory Cache under Settings > Published Status and rebuilt the PDF Index that is under Settings > Examine Management > PDF Index > Rebuild Index and can still browse to the media path in a new InPrivate window but still can't find the file when searching for filename or folder name.
It is strange as if I go to Examine Management > External Index > Search the index for the folder name or filename then it returns the document but when going to media tab and using the search box it does not return any results.
In Examine Management > External Index > Search when the item is returned you can click the title and the path of the file in the media tree is displayed in the footer of the details overlay pane.
I can also search on the node name in the media tree and nothing is returned but the same search for the node name in the Examine Management > External Index is returning the document.
Is there something that needs to be done to get the Media Tree to search the latest version of the Examine Index?
Ideally we want site editors to be able to find the document via the media tree search rather than having to contact a developer who has access to the 'Settings' tab where they can use the Examine Management > External Index search.

This site is running Umbraco 10.

Hi Nick,
Have you tried rebuilding the cache and the examine index?
Hi Afreed,
I have reset the Memory Cache under Settings > Published Status and rebuilt the PDF Index that is under Settings > Examine Management > PDF Index > Rebuild Index and can still browse to the media path in a new InPrivate window but still can't find the file when searching for filename or folder name.
could you try deleting the TEMP folder itself.
It is strange as if I go to Examine Management > External Index > Search the index for the folder name or filename then it returns the document but when going to media tab and using the search box it does not return any results.
