but it works 'as you go along' so you'd have to save the pages again to build up the relationship to be able to know if it is in use.
the emergency, I need to know now way, would be to open up the umbraco.config file, that contains all published content and search for the file path; eg /media/1234/myunusedpic.jpg (so if it's included in a rich text area it will be there somewhere amongst the xml, and if you want to check whether it has been picked by a media picker search for it's mediaid 4321, and see if it turns up in any comma delimited lists.
Media & Image usage
Dear community, please help, Is it any option to see if Image is used in content before deleting it?
Hi Maris
There is a nice package that will track when a media item is used in a rich text area or whenever it is picked using Umbraco relations:
https://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/media-content-usage/
but it works 'as you go along' so you'd have to save the pages again to build up the relationship to be able to know if it is in use.
