Multiple sites on same installation using different hosting domains

    Hello,

I've created 2 different websites (Contents) on the same Umbraco installation.

The first one is linked (Link to document) to the main domain, for example: www.carsandgadgets.com/cars which is registered with the same hosting-company as the server where all the files are on.

The second should be linked to a domain differend from the first and registered with another hosting-company, example: www.onlygadgeds.com/allgadgets

I tried to just edit the Culture and Hostname for the second site but without any luck.

This is the first time trying this so I have no experience. Any help would be appreciated!

    EDIT:

    Hi Sam,

You need to check the following:

    • Each of the two domains' A-Records (DNS) need to point to the IP of the server hosting the Umbraco installation
    • The IIS on the Umbraco server needs to have both of the hostnames added to its "Bindings" for the Umbraco site
    • Set the Culture and Hostnames setting for the two nodes, either just their hostnames or including the first step of the path if necessary.

    Hope that helps,

    /Chriztian

Hello, thanks for this fine answer. I've already tried your first solution but without luck (look edited question). Going to try second and third now.

Ah - sorry if I didn't make it obvious enough:

All of them needs to be done, to make it work.

It worked! The DNS needed some time to update itself. Thanks!
