I developed an website using Bootstrap within a .NET website project. It's almost all css and html static pages for now. It has one or two functionalities programmed in C# connected to a SQL Server database.
I'm looking now to integrate it with some CMS solution, so it will have a backoffice for pages and content, and the possibility of adding modules, being from the community or developed by me.
So, i'm thinking of using Umbraco for this.
My question is: what is the right approach for a local install so I can do this integration (theme creation, pages creation, adding content and develop custom modules with connection to SQL Server database)? I saw an install using Nuget and other using Grunt.
I was new to Umbraco recently as well and was asking the same thing.I found this blog post, and it really helped with finding the best way to install Umbraco locally. The learning curve is a bit steep when trying to set everything up, but once you figure everything out Umbraco becomes an incredibly helpful tool. Hope this helps.
Integrating website with Umbraco CMS solution
Hello.
Please advise. Thank you.
Hey José,
I was new to Umbraco recently as well and was asking the same thing.I found this blog post, and it really helped with finding the best way to install Umbraco locally. The learning curve is a bit steep when trying to set everything up, but once you figure everything out Umbraco becomes an incredibly helpful tool. Hope this helps.

Hey.
Thanks for the reply.
Had no problem installing Umbraco using the steps on the blog post you advised.
Already managed to install it also using Nuget (just for the sake of trying).
Anyway, as for developing custom modules, you know if there's a "right way" to do it or some workflow one should follow?
Thanks.
