Deploy Umbraco using TFS online and Octopus

    Hi,

I see that some people are working with Octopus Deploy. I got currious and start looking at this deployment tool.

Currently I use TFS online for version control of my projects.

Are there people that use TFS along with Octopus? Can someone share there experiences with this?

Or are there some video's about deploying .NET website to TFS online and use Octopus to deploy it to different stages?

    /Michaël

    Hi Michaël,

I am looking into the same area myself. I'm hoping to use TFS (though mostly/entirely git for TFS) for source control and builds linked to Octopus for deployments. There seems to be quite a lot on the documentation site for Octopus about doing this: http://docs.octopusdeploy.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=3048175

There is even a short video on that page as well. I'm still not sure how to get Umbraco smoothly integrated into the pipeline as I'm just starting out with it but that seems to be the biggest challenge regardless of how you deploy.

    Cheers, George

I was wondering whether you got the deployments working with VSO and octopus deploy? Both the new release management of VSTS and the octopus extension looks very promising. See http://docs.octopusdeploy.com/display/OD/Use+the+Team+Foundation+Build+Custom+Task

How did you setup your Visual Studio solution for Umbraco and configured packaging? I assume you use the Umbraco nuget feed? What files are included/excluded?
