I'm about to estimate a price for a customer, who currently have 3 separate Umbraco installation. One in 4.8.0 and another two in 6.1.6, and they want to combine the three solutions in one single Umbraco.
Two of the solutions is fairly complex, with ALOT of content.
I'm thinking of creating an entirely new Umbraco solution, creating each website (they will have som shared code, but is also different in the needs), and import content from the old solutions, instead of upgrading them.
There are a lot of steps from 4.8.0 to 7.4.3, and problaly a lot of broken code.
They also have some new wishes, and the largest of the sites, are not currently responsive, but they wish to make et responsive, when upgrading.
What would be your way of doing a project like this?
Is there an "easy" way of migrating the content?
Can I use Courier between to different Umbraco version, with different document-names?
Upgrade from 4.8.0/6.1.6 til newest Umbraco
