We are moving to a WordPress site and I wondered if anyone knew if there was a way of creating an offline copy of our current website so that we can have it as a back up for a new website if there are any issues? Thanks
I quess that your old web was a Umbraco install? Sorry to hear you are moving to Wordpress, but sometimes it's a client requirement and there is not much you can do as a developer.
Yes you can make a offline version, just FTP download all the files in your site from your server to your local environment, then you can set up a local IIS and run it offline. Remember that if you are using a SqlServer database, you need to make a local copy of that as well and modify your connections strings.
HT Track is a great tool for copying websites. You point it to the root of the site you want to copy and it downloads all of the HTML, CSS, scripts, images etc. This is great if you have a client who has a flat HTML site and wants you to put it into a Content Management System for them. It is also good if you are taking over a site for a client but you don't have the source code.

Hi Helen I think I get what you are asking for. You want a flat html version of your site to use as a base for moving it into WordPress.
I use a tool called HT Track
