The reason why you are not seen any content is because the Member list view is for the view of members in member section and not for use as a property in the content section on a document type.
If you could try to explain what you are trying to achieve, then perhaps we can find another solution for you.
List view - Members not working
Hi, I'm using 7.5.4. I have added an editor "List view - Members" to a document type. I have also 2 dummy members defined.
When I try to edit content of the doc type i only see:
No content has been added.
message and cannot select a member in any way.
Is there anything else that should be done by me to make it work properly?

I want members to be assigned to be under my custom media types. Examples: organisations, networks, tasks etc.
Is there a way to do that or should I create a custom member data type?

If you want to add some custom fields to your members liker ganisations, networks, tasks ect.
Then you should added it to the member data type under the member section. When you create a new member, then it, contains your custom fields too.
