TL;DR – I have seen a number of posts on the Umbraco Forum with questions about deployment to GoDaddy hosting provider. Many of those questions stayed either unresolved or the author would give up trying and switch to another hosting provider.
In this post, I share my personal experience with GoDaddy deployment. It is a deployment walk-though of my Umbraco webprojects to GoDaddy’s hosting space. I hope that following these steps, you also succeed in deploying your website to GoDaddy (and, by the way, many other hosting providers).

Unfortunately, the walk-through is huge and contains 26 printscreens. I have had too many fights with the editor in the Umbraco Forum. So, in the end I gave up and hosted it myself.
In short, the procedure looks like this:
Stop the application pool on GoDaddy
Synchronize the database schema and data
Copy the Release output to GoDaddy by Visual Studio of via FTP.
Set the correct access rights on the App_Data directory
Deploying Umbraco 7 to GoDaddy
