Umbraco architecture on Azure for multiple web sites

I have been looking at the best way to setup Umbraco in Azure to host multiple sites that are from different companies.

I've read the following post but wanted to find out how people had approached this on Azure. https://our.umbraco.org/forum/extending-umbraco-and-using-the-api/79387-one-umbraco-installation-with-muliple-databases-multi-tenant-saas

The approaches I've looked at are: - 1 App Service with 1 Web App and 1 DB - Would use a multi-tenant Umbraco which could be too restrictive

    • Each company has their own Web App and DB
      • Could become unmanageable to keep all these in sync

Does anyone have an approach that has worked well?

    Hi,

I would never host multiple companies in one Umbraco installation. If something is not set correctly in the editor rights than editors from company A would be able to make changes to the site of company B

What is the reason for hosting multiple companies in one Umbraco installtion ? Hosting costs ?

    Dave
