Getting started - Home content and child nodes

Just wondering what best practices are when developing with Umbraco. Should all my content go under the Home content node, or should each content item have its own node?

    Eg.

    • Home
      • Blog (child under home)
      • About (child under home)
      • Contact (child under home)
      • etc.

    OR

    • Home
    • Blog
    • About
    • Contact

    Hi Michael

I prefer to have one root node, and normally it's a home page or language page node.

Will you have one language on the site?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

Yes, just one language. I also prefer to have a home page as root and everything else under it. I was mainly asking because I have a few clients where they've set things up so everything is its own root node... seemed odd to me.

    Thanks!

Absolutely agree with you that it's odd.

And as I know it works faster when you have home node as parent I mean menus rendering and breadcrumbs for example.

    Thanks,

    Alex
