I'm trying to install Wordpress in a folder at the root so that the URL would be mydomain.com/blog.
I have seen other threads where it has been been suggested that you add the folder to the web.config file so that umbraco ignores the folder and its contents.
However I still get the message:
Page not found
No umbraco document matches the url '/blog/'.
Just wondering are you committed to using wordpress for the blog or could you install an Umbraco blog package on your site and so keep all the content management contained within one portal.
Appreciate the above is not what you asked about, but I had to ask ?
He Steve, if you run your own server, i think it would be a better idea to run Wordpress in a own application pool, and use a rewrite rule in your Umbraco application to redirect the requests. This way you isolate your Wordpress application, which is from a security perspective a good idea.
We needed to run Wordpress. We already run a blog using Umbraco but needed to run Wordpress as we are using Click Funnels and wanted the landing page on the website.
We decided to buy a second domain and run Wordpress on the second domain as it was easier although not ideal.
Installing Wordpress in a folder
Hi
I'm trying to install Wordpress in a folder at the root so that the URL would be mydomain.com/blog.

Anyone any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Hi Steve
Did you add wordpress to "blog" folder?
Is it working if you try to run wordpress independently?
Thanks,
Alex
I tried adding the Wordpress files to the folder but when you try accessing the files domain.com/blog/ no content is found.
I can't access Wordpress to see if it runs independently as I'm not sure what the URL would be if it's installed in the folder 'blog'?
Hi there

Thanks Sjors Pals.
As you can see we decided to create another domain.
Hi Steve
Glad that you found a way to solve this issue.
Very interesting to look at site combined from Wordpress and Umbraco.
Have a nice evening!
