Backend error "Received an error from the server"

    Hi,

I'm working with Umbraco v7.5.9. I installed locally with a networked SQL 2008 DB and it works fine. However, when I copy Umbraco to my application folder (on IIS 7.5, Server 2008 R2) as domain.com/umbraco, I receive the following error. I'm not sure how to name this error to search for resolutions.

Has anyone else seen this error or know what process is causing the error?

    Hi Lake.

Yes, It's a generic error message that's a bit hard to search for I understand that. :) However you should be able to find more information about your error in the /App_Data/Logs files. Look for any entry labeled ERROR and post here and maybe someone can help you.

Also you could possibly see more information about the error in your browser console.

One thing I thought of on the top of my head, when you copied your site, did you apply and make sure all the Folder Permissions are correctly configured? https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/getting-started/setup/install/permissions

Let me know how this goes. Have a great friday!
