Set Rich Text Editor to HTMl mode by default

Is there anyway to set the rich text editor to HTMl mode first, rather than clicking the source icon every time I want to apply HTML?

    Thanks

    Hi Kensley,
I'm afraid not, the rich text editor is powered by TinyMCE but there isn't a setting which would start in HTML mode.

    Thanks,
    Jamie

Thanks for the honest answer. Would you happen to know of any alternative data type I can use for just HTML?

Hey, no worries! Wouldn't want you going down the wrong path.

I'd suggest using a Textarea (might also be called a "textbox multiple" or "text string multiple" depending on the Umbraco version).

You can add whatever text or HTML you want to this as it's basically a multi line text field. Some developers use it for adding in tracking codes or user managed scripts.

    I hope this helps :)

    Thanks,
    Jamie
