Text not displaying in 7.2.4 in RTE

    Hi Guys,

We have a client using Umbraco 7.2.4 for their website. Something weird is happening is that all text that is in a RTE is not showing inside Umbraco. If we check the front-end, the text is there. We are afraid of publishing the node again and the text to disappear. Has anyone faced this yet?

    Umbraco version 7.2.4 assembly: 1.0.5557.1913

    Hi Francielle

It looks like frontend shows content from the cache. I would recommend you to make backup of content before republishing.

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

Unfortunately we have not. The only solution we are having at the moment is deleting App_Data and letting the website rebuild it.

    Hi Francielle

It should be a cache, because the umbraco backend uses data from database, maybe something wrong with doctypes or property editors on pages?

Do you have some custom code on these doctypes?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

Yep, there is custom code everywhere. The website was not built by us and it doesn't follow our usual approach, it uses lots of models and controllers to render basic content. We'll probably push the client to rebuild it in a better structure.

Totally agree, push the client to rebuild it in a better structure - is the perfect solution!

    Have a nice weekend.
