Hi Everyone,
Did someone try with run Umbraco 7 (for example 7.5.10) with succeed with MySQL 5.7 database?
I was try do it but I give up after few tries of install of Umbraco. I don't know, did I done something wrong or just Umbraco not support newest MySQL (5.7)?
I remember that I tried run Umbraco on MySQL 5.6 and everything worked fine, so right now I'm confused.
I successulfly installed a 7.5.12 version with a connection to a MySql ver. 5.7.17 on unoeuro.com yesteday... - no errors, however the installation behaved a bit odd in the backoffice, but all in all it was useable... :)
I get the feeling that whilst Umbraco still officially supports MySQL, it's not really tested much and I've heard strong rumours it will soon be dropped altogether. So, personally, I would avoid using if it all possible.
Thanks guys for help. The problem with MySQL 5.7 was not related with Umbraco. Clear installation of mySQL on windows need some changes to cooperate with Umbraco. For example we need to change "lowercasetable_names" from default 0 on 2. This should remove problme with database creation.
Other problem is that we can't connect with database via visual studio 2017. But on that MySQL team works to solved it.
