Just wondering if you ever got any private response to this question? We're in the process of redesigning our Azure architecture and I'm keen to move to SQL Azure but cautious of shooting myself in the foot if MS turn around one day and say sorry, we've dropped those field types.
I remember someone talking about this during codegarden. Can't remember if it was Stephan or Shannon. It might have been a question from the crowd.
It is not changed today, but on the roadmap. They did not have a specific timeline, but they are aware of it and it will be changed in the umbraco database in the future.
Wish i could be more specific, but my memory fails me :p
Umbraco database in Azure sql PAAS
hello
we are moving a client website (umb7.4.3) to Azure and SQL PAAS.
The Microsoft migration tool reports the following on the Umbraco database:
6 Warnings uses deprecated data type TEXT, IMAGE or NTEXT which will be discontinued for future versions of SQL Server
Were/are these resolved in a forthcoming version of Umbraco? i.e. have they already been fixed as part of "Umbraco as a service"?
thanks
