LeBlender ... Really? ... I'm the ONLY person who can't get this up and running?
LeBlender ... Really? ... I'm the ONLY person who can't get this up and running?
SO ... would someone please tell me what your current "successfully" deployed LeBlender-laiden site is built with and/or running on?
The only thing I can think of now that could be the last contributing factor is Visual Studio Community 2015 ... OR ... the fact that I'm using a SQL CE ... OR possibly my browser of choice is creating issues for me (Google Chrome).
I tried switching up the platform from desktop to laptop ... Windows 7 and Windows 10. Still the same error?
I have poured over the details of the only 2 videos in existance ... rebuilt this puppy from the ground up (many times ... can recite the entire process from memory now)
Create Custom grid editor Datatype "Carousel"
Select "LeBlender Editor"
Image > Media Picker
Title > Textstring
Summary > Textbox Multiple
1-10 ... then click SAVE
Add it to the grid
Go back to Carousel datatype and click render to grid and add cache time of 120
... AND ... wait for it ...
... I'm STILL receiving the same error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" ...!
yeah, I'm running out of ideas here. Additional info regarding the environments where LeBlender has been successfully deployed would be helpful.
UPDATE ... I'm going to close this thread. Tom Engan has researched and found information regarding this problem with LeBlender which is posted in another thread (I included the link to the other thread below).
Tom Engan's post(s) in this other thread regarding this new and relatively undocumented error with LeBlender and newer versions of the Media Picker datatype:
Frontend :
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
_
In backoffice:
"Something went wrong with this editor, below is the exception detail:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
Tom figured this one out ... looks like the new media picker is part of the problem. This is what he found ... "When I change the property for Image from Data Type (obsolete) Media Picker (Property editor alias: Umbraco.MediaPicker), to the new Media Picker (Property editor alias: Umbraco.MediaPicker2), I've got the same message." (see error messages listed-referenced above)

Thanks for you help!
Hi Brett,
Usually this happens when the aliases for your properties don't match the aliases in your partial view.
You're sure they're their all named the same?
Thanks,
Amir
Hi Amir,
Good point, and an excellent question. I'll go back and confirm those details again.
FYI ... it wasn't only the Carousel ... I couldn't get the Highlight example to work either.
Appreciate the input. Thanks!
