Hello all,
Does anyone know how to add shape files from umbraco back office, it would be great if someone can help me with this issue, Thank you so much in advance.
Hi Chinny
What did you mean shape files?
Alex
Hello Alex,
A shapefile is an Esri vector data storage format for storing the location, shape, and attributes of geographic features.
I have school locator in my website, So i would like to add school locations using shape files.
As I know there are no Umbraco packages for shapefiles, and I think it's a good idea to create property editor for this type of files.
Do you want to create datatype and share with community?
Thank you alex, I was finding the ways to how to do this, actually i have no idea at all
You can store this files as "File" media type in the media library. Can you specify what file extension do you want to use?
our client provided different file extensions like .shp , .sbn, .sbx, .shx, .prj etc
it's not a problem, try to use Umbraco media uploaded, but not Image type - File type instead.
sure , thank you so much alex.
