We recently moved our Umbraco instance (7.4.1) to the Cloud (Azure App Services). Our first page load is extremely slow (slower than before moving to the cloud). Not surprisingly, diagnostics suggest that performance issues are due to slow file I/O operations.

Per other forum posts, we have considered or played with the following Umbraco updates:

• Examine configuration to use local file storage
• File cache (umbraco.config) configuration to use local storage
• Pre-compilation of Razor views

We have also considered the following Azure enhancements:

• Azure Local Cache
• Azure CDN
• "Always On" in App Service

Are there any other changes we missed that have worked for anyone else? Any help would be greatly appreciated,
