i hided a content-page from navigation via checkbox and removed the "redirect"-Value in the settings-tab of the page.
Afterwards, I created a page with the same name but with a different document type.
After clearing the browser-cache the new site has been displayed in the navigation.
Now, I need the old content-page in the navigation again (jesus, that is daily business :D) .I removed the new created page, renamed the page to the old name and set the old redirect and show it in the navigation. --> origin settings
The item is shown in the navigation, but i get a 404 page error now.
I get the same error if i click on 'link to document' on the page itself. I remarked, that the sitemap hasn't been updated.
I cleared the browser-cache and use this parameter to clear the umbraco
cache:
thank you. Yes, I tried it, but it is not working. The whole navigation was destroyed after renaming or adding a new node. I republished the whole website, deleted the cookies. I see the navigation again. But I can't open this special page.
I created the same content page and I inserted it to another navi item, and it works. Then copied it back to the original item. But I get the same error again. Really, really reall strange. :)
UPDATE:
I renamed the page and the page is displayed now.
Somewhere deep inside ... the old name/page is still cached or marked as deleted. But I don't kow where.
Page 404 after changing redirect
Hi,
i made following changes in a content-page:
i hided a content-page from navigation via checkbox and removed the "redirect"-Value in the settings-tab of the page.

Do you know this error? Thank you
Hi Nadine,
Has the old item also been removed from the Recycle Bin?
Have you also, tried deleting the umbraco.config (cache file) in the App_Data folder and regenerating it?
Regards
Craig
