Ugrading to 7.7.6: Invalid object name 'umbracoUser2UserGroup'.

    Hi,

I'm attempting to do a manual (no nuget) upgrade from Umbraco 7.5.3 to 7.7.6. I get the following exception when attempting to log into the 'Authorize Upgrade' screen. The login fails.

useLegacyEncoding was left set to true. umbracoConfigurationStatus is 7.5.3.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi,

Have you got a locked down DB user in your web.config string? I had issues on upgrade to V7.7 due to the DB user not being SA. It was trying to delete the old user tables and failed.

Try bumping the web.config up with an sa user - rerun the upgrade and see if that works for you too.

    HTH

    Steve

    Hi Michael,

It's hard to be sure and you should probably backup your code and database before following this advice but when I've run into similar issues in the past - it's come down to migrations not being applied properly.

Have you manually edited the database at any point?

Regardless of that, try changing umbracoConfigurationStatus to 7.2.8 and run the install again. This will make all of the migrations run properly, in order and make sure you database integrity is correct.

    Good luck!

Execute following script manually.(This script is for MySql. If you are using other db then you will have to create script according to it)

    CREATE TABLE umbracouser2usergroup ( userId INT (11), userGroupId INT (11) ); INSERT INTO umbracouser2usergroup (userId, userGroupId) VALUES('0','1');

If you get another error after executing above script then execute following scripts:

    CREATE TABLE umbracousergroup ( id INT (11), userGroupAlias VARCHAR (600), userGroupName VARCHAR (600), userGroupDefaultPermissions VARCHAR (150), createDate TIMESTAMP , updateDate TIMESTAMP , icon VARCHAR (765), startContentId INT (11), startMediaId INT (11) ); INSERT INTO umbracousergroup (id, userGroupAlias, userGroupName, userGroupDefaultPermissions, createDate, updateDate, icon, startContentId, startMediaId) VALUES('1','admin','Administrators','CADMOSKTPIURZ:5F7ï','2017-11-06 15:07:21','2017-11-06 15:07:21','icon-medal','-1','-1'); INSERT INTO umbracousergroup (id, userGroupAlias, userGroupName, userGroupDefaultPermissions, createDate, updateDate, icon, startContentId, startMediaId) VALUES('2','writer','Writers','CAH:F','2017-11-06 15:07:21','2017-11-06 15:07:21','icon-edit','-1','-1'); INSERT INTO umbracousergroup (id, userGroupAlias, userGroupName, userGroupDefaultPermissions, createDate, updateDate, icon, startContentId, startMediaId) VALUES('3','editor','Editors','CADMOSKTPUZ:5Fï','2017-11-06 15:07:21','2017-11-06 15:07:21','icon-tools','-1','-1'); INSERT INTO umbracousergroup (id, userGroupAlias, userGroupName, userGroupDefaultPermissions, createDate, updateDate, icon, startContentId, startMediaId) VALUES('4','translator','Translators','AF','2017-11-06 15:07:21','2017-11-06 15:07:21','icon-globe','-1','-1');

I am attempting to upgrade to v7.8.1 from v7.6.4. We tried to run the 1st script you mentioned which did not work So we moved onto the 2nd script.

We are getting the following error:

Most upgrades don't attempt to drop tables. I suspect that's why we're hitting it on this release! The old user tables are removed.

I had this issue when restoring a database from 7.7.6 over a release version of 7.5.13 (difference between environments). Just thought I'd pop this info in here.

I have a similar issue, but the solution provided here didn't work. Could anybody help?

Just wanted to share that the the solution for me was to first go to 7.7.13 and then to latest version (at the moment 7.11.1)

    Hi,

Even I'm getting this error with missing DB objects (Invalid object name 'umbracoUser2UserGroup') while upgrading from v6.1.6 to v7.12.3. Should we be creating these DB tables manually? There isn't any DB scripts for the upgrade in the documentation or am I missing anything?

    Appreciate your help.

    Thanks,

    Pramod

    Hi Pramod,

I'm unsure if there's any specific requirements when it comes to upgrading from v6 to v7, but I would suggest upgrading to 7.7.13 first as per Markus Johansson's suggestion. Once this is successful, go from that version to 7.12.3. I've had generally good success doing this.

    Hi

I upgrade to 7.6.13 and then to 7.7.13. This way works without problems.

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi Mick and Alex,

    Thank you for your response.

I've now upgraded from 6.1.6 to 7.6.13 and then to 7.7.13 and finally to 7.12.13 (current latest version).

I've however had an issue with the Missing default Member Types 'Member' details in the below post.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Looks like some missing configuration though.

    https://our.umbraco.com/forum/using-umbraco-and-getting-started/93913-missing-default-member-types-member-after-upgrade-from-616-to-71213

    Thanks,

    Pramod
