Following upgrade from 7.5.11 to 7.7.6, the 'Optimize Index' option within Examine Management is no longer available. Are indices now automatically optimized? Forcing a rebuild is time consuming and the 'Optimized?' indicator shows false on completion!
On rebuild, all indices except the the InternalMemberIndexer have deletions: rebuilding the InternalMemberIndexer shows no deletions and is flagged as optimized. On occasion, an index has no deletions but still shows optimized as false.
Alex, I rebuilt using the MediaIndexer earlier and it came back with no deletions but not optimized.
I wouldn't mind having to rebuild indices to address deletions but where the no. of documnts is of the order of thousands this can take a while and doesn't guarantee optimization.

When I run "Rebuild index" on my 7.7 installation it optimizes indexes
Do you have "deletions" in your index?
