If you can login to the backoffice. Then you can change your password by go to the users section and then find the user that you want to change the password for.

Hi Dennis, I cant get in as I don't have the original password. Long story, short, the original dev is no longer about and I have had to use the old back up files to start again on a new server. I have tried a password reset and I think it has gone wrong somewhere and I cant access the login (used the .dll file reset before noticing that it is not for v.4). I now just get a server error, however, if I use the set up server link provided by the domain setting had changed to the site I can get to the login so might be a dns issue? Coupled with that access to the database is a pain with the host. Not being familiar with umbraco makes it more of a task. Nothing like a challenge though.
admin password change
Can anyone advice on the best way to reset the admin password on verson 4.
