    Upgrade confirmation requested

Anyone that can confirm that upgrading from Umbraco 7.7.7 to 7.7.8 via NuGet works properly (especially with respect to the database update)? Thanks /Jan

Depends on what your dev environment is like, but I just updated last night without any issues. As always, make sure you do a backup :-)

    Hi John,

It's good to know - at least - that the problem is with my site/environment. However, the setup is the same as many times before; the only thing that differs is that I'm now using Visual Studio 2017. But that should not be a problem, right?

What is the problem exactly? There are no database changes in 7.7.8 but you seem to have some kind of problem, what is happening, what are you seeing, what were you expecting, etc? :-)

    Hi Sebastiaan,

I was expecting the process that is described in the "Upgrades in general" guide:

"After copying the files and making the config changes, you can open your site. You should see the installer which will guide you through the upgrade.

The installer will do two things:

    • Update the version number in the Web.config
    • Upgrade your database in case there are any changes"

But nothing happens when I open the site, it just opens.

    /Jan

Alright, that usually means that you didn't update the dlls.

Here's a blog post on diagnosing upgrade problems: https://cultiv.nl/blog/how-to-diagnose-umbraco-upgrade-problems/
