Run Umbraco Site Locally. (need to clone from repository). Pls Help.
Hello.
My task is to fix some bugs on site, but firstly I need to copy from git project which is managed by Umbraco and run it locally on my laptop. I cloned the project to my computer and tried to run it and naturally I got a database related error i.e. if I understood correctly I need to create an exact copy of the original database locally and only then run the project?
Question: Is it possible to create a copy of the database having access only to the repository in order to deploy the database to the local server later?
Sounds like you're working with an Umbraco Cloud project, right?
In that case you can find documentation on how to work locally right here
Without knowing what error you're getting it's hard to be more specific but you should not be getting a db error at all. The way Umbraco Cloud is designed, you clone the project down, start it up and choose wether or not you want to restore content and media to your local clone as well. No need to fiddle around with db settings :)
I cloned the repository using GitKraken, then opened the project via Visual Studio Code. Click open folder and select the project location. Pressed CTRL+F5 and I got this error.

In that case you can find documentation on how to work locally right here Without knowing what error you're getting it's hard to be more specific but you should not be getting a db error at all.
