We have a date picker field that isn’t mandatory. When the content editor removes an existing value (by removing value in textbox) and hits “Save and publish” then the validation complains with “Property has errors: Invalid date” If the “clear date” button is used instead, then “Save and publish” is successful.

Is there a reason why removing the value from the textbox and using the “clear date” button are not the same thing?
