    Scheduled tasks suddenly stopped working on old umbraco 4.7 site

    Hey all,

    we are maintaining an old Umbraco website, dated april 2011 and using Umbraco v 4.7.1.1 (Assembly version: 1.0.4868.25172).

    This website has a scheduled task (config/umbracosettings.config) that activates every 2 minutes (interval 120 seconds) and should download an xml feed.

    This scheduled task has been running fine for more than 7 years. But recently (I think around july) it stopped working correctly!? In stead of running every 2 minutes as it should, it now only runs about every 4 hours. We haven't changed any code, we haven't changed any configuration, etc.

    Does anyone have an idea why this would have stopped working? Maybe a Windows or IIS security update or so?

    Can anyone help?

    Apparently this was caused by SSL. We recently added SSL to this website.

    If I disable SSL for the scheduled task URL's, then it works fine again.

    I don't understand why secure URL's wouldn't work for scheduled taks???

    Does anyone have an explanation for this?
