Umbraco RTE link creation injects current page to absolute url

    Hi there

When using the RTE in Umbraco, our users are experiencing that it injects the current page reference into the url when writing absolute urls.

    Example: User edits page "https://basesite.com/example/"

User writes "https://basesite.com/secondexample/" into a link field

The link generated on the edited page becomes "https://basesite.com/example/secondexample/"

How do I get around this? They would like to be able to specify an absolute url in there.

Side note: It does not happen with external urls

    Hi Jannik

What is the Culture and Hostname setting for the basesite.com/example website ?

does that include the 'example' folder?

wondering if the RTE is identifying the link is from the same domain, then using this setting to construct the url...?

    just a thought

What happens if the user 'picks' the secondexample page from the Umbraco Tree when making the link?

and what happens if the user adds the url relatively eg /secondexample/

    regards

    Marc
