I know this has been a while but how was your experience with uSync? I installed it but it appears to take a very long time to for content saving and updates. I am currently still running v7.11 and know that I am very far behind especially for v7.
I have also tried CMSImport but to export it would require BulkManager. Unfortunately, I couldn't get BulkManager to work as it kept throwing a backoffice error.
In addition, it appears Courier is not an option either since it does not support my Umbraco version.
I wouldn't say your that far behind. My experience with usync is we run it on every site we build, is it slow after doing a full export on the usync dashboard?
Also Kevin works on usync a lot if your having issues I'd suggest upgrading usync to the latest version that's compatible and see if it solves it if not see if he can help via GitHub or the usync forum on here
I have uSync installed on both my source and destination site. What is the proper steps you guys took to sync it and what issues to resole them.
This is what I did but it did not import any contents.
export from source.
copied to destination uSync data folder
Performed a full import.
It appear to not have imported everything or maybe nothing and my site crashed but backoffice is still running with errors.
I checked the contents and did not see any of the new content get applied or published, even though the import status shows that it imported 454 changes.
Performed a Health Check and uSync says I still have 454 changes not applied. To apply changes, import them which I am doing right now.
After Health Check,
I manually performed an import by pressing the import button and below are images of my import.
Import status:
Errors after manual import:
uSync Health Status even after imported.
So I'm a bit lost here.
I tried diff config settings.
Sync Source
Manual Sync.
I will try the Auto Sync next. I'm hoping to get this resolve soon so I can setup my staging environment.
Any particular steps you guys use that I can follow is appreciated.
Deply on premise will replace courier but we haven't got any time line from HQ at the moment. However Kevin has release uSync.Complete which does this complete with a UI that's friendly to clients.
Courier alternatives
Hi all,
Has anyone come across any alternatives to Courier? Something to reliably get content moved between sites.
Thanks
Depending on the use case
We use USync Content version for local dev content to staging when a site is been worked on. https://our.umbraco.com/packages/developer-tools/usynccontentedition/
Its not really for client use though
Matt
Thanks Matt, I guess we're looking for something a bit more client friendly :) Something more of a direct replacement for Courier.
Figured you would be, but unless you migrate to Umbraco Cloud I don't know of another option
Matt
Until Umbraco Cloud can run on private infrastructure i.e not shared with anyone else. It's not much of an option to us unfortunately.

Hi Kong
As for me, uSync works just great. I'm using it for years and for different Umbraco versions.
Thanks,
Alex

Hi Matt,
The version of uSync installed is 8.2. Also it appears uSync is my only option at the moment so I will give it another shot.

Hi Guys
CmsImport can be handy in some cases - https://our.umbraco.com/packages/developer-tools/cmsimport/
Thanks,
Alex
Hey Alex,
Do you know if the interface for CMS Import is client friendly i.e. not too complicated?
Thanks
Paul
Hi Paul
For me it's fine. Not sure how it will be for clients.
Alex
Hi Paul
So what did you choose?
Alex
Hi Alex,
Neither I'm afraid, while they're all good products they don't quite fit.
Do you know if Courier is getting an upgrade to coincide with Umbraco 8?
Thanks
Paul
Hi Paul,
Deply on premise will replace courier but we haven't got any time line from HQ at the moment. However Kevin has release uSync.Complete which does this complete with a UI that's friendly to clients.
Hope this helps Matt
Hi Matthew,
Thanks for the update - Deploy on Premise sounds promising. Can't wait to try it. Hopefully it will be released soon.
Thanks
Paul
Found the roadmap! https://umbraco.com/products/roadmap/
