When someone asks "how do we integrate our stand alone .NET apps with an Umbraco website?" what is a good answer? I typically tell them how we can iFrame the app and other similar methods.
From that question my response would probably start with, "Firstly, what do you mean by integrate, and secondly, can we see your existing app"
Those two questions could help guide you on the type of integration you want to do. In some cases you might iframe it, in others you might create your own front end for it in Umbraco, alternatively you might look to use custom routing so it stays separate but incorporated into the same domain some how.
So, yeah, it kinda varies depending on use case and app type :-)
