cmsPropertyTypes (and their data) randomly disappearing

    Hi,

We are having issues with a website in a production environment.

For the members we added a custom property "isSubscribed" and the two latest properties added for regular content are "buttonOnWebsite" and "registationSurvey".

These three properties keep randomly disappearing from the configuration in the CMS.

The times this happened (it seems to be getting more frequent):

    • 07-05-2019
    • 06-05-2019
    • 21-04-2019
    • 08-04-2019

    Our installation:

    • Umbraco version 7.13.2
    • SQL server 2016 SP1
    • IIS 8
    • uSync 4.0.10 (upgraded 26-04-2019; was 4.0.2 before)

The three properties are removed from the cmsPropertyType table and for the members the XML cache is regenerated, 'MemberService.RebuildXmlStructures completed, the xml has been regenerated in the database' in the umbracoLog, and this causes login issues for all our members on the website (currently 25.000+).

The other two properties are content properties and I can reset those from the cmsPreviewXml where I can still find the values, they are gone in the cmsContentXml as well.

We've just upgraded our logging settings from Info to Debug and uSync automatic import has been stopped and set to Manual, just to check if this is the cause of the issue.

It could be related to issues described here:

Any help/hints on this would be appreciated!

    Ingrid

If anyone ever ends up here: Check if you have an extra instance of your website running somewhere!

Turned out there was a second webserver, with an old version of the website available. Because of a wrong DNS setting for a new hostname for the website (to the second webserver and not the first) it was getting hit sometimes and at these times resetting our configuration trough uSync.

So all could be explained. Removing the website from the second webserver has stopped the issue for us.
