Anyone know why the MemberPicker would be showing old, deleted members?

Members were deleted using the back office Trash has been emptied umbraco.config has been deleted and recreated Examine has been reindexed

I cannot seem to see where they members would be coming from, they don't show up in the regular members view, only in a Member Picker added to a document type.
