I want to add Google Analytics to our site so that we can track website traffic. It says that I need to add it to but when I open the html it appears to go straight to the body of the page. Please can you advise?

    Hi Becky,

You should be able to add the Google Analytics snippet by navigating to the Templates folder under the Settings section.
In there, you will have to find your Master template and add the snippet to that.
In Umbraco 7 it will look like this: https://i.imgur.com/7NuzBec.png

Be aware that your pages may not all use the same master template.

Thanks for the quick reply Soren.

I've just looked and we're using version 6, I can't find the settings tab I'm afraid, can you point me in the right direction?

    Thanks :)

Yes, you need to place the Google analytics code in the master template in your site.

    Hi Becky,

Sorry for the late response - I was attending Codegarden last week 🤓

It should look like this in Umbraco 6: https://i.imgur.com/TZhMzsm.png
