    Hi Srinivasan

It's difficult to define 'best' package for this functionality, as the approaches all kind of do the same thing, loop through the content tree and write out search engine sitemap compatible XML.

The tutorial in the documentation is there to serve several purposes, yes it shows you how to create an XML SiteMap, but it's also there to illustrate how to query Umbraco, and work with Razor Helpers and Razor Functions.

The benefit of using this approach to create your XML SiteMap is it will give you a full understanding of what is involved in generating the site map, and if you want to put your own custom logic into play... to determine which pages should be displayed... you can.,,

But if you just want to install a package and have your sitemap good to go the Cultiv Search Engine Sitemap is the most popular XML Sitemap generation package, mainly due to its longevity,,. it was created at least 8 years ago! therefore it has been used across hundreds of Umbraco sites (21,428) downloads! Therefore is 'battle hardened' and generally 'just works'.

The Marcel sitemap generator has also been around for a couple of years, is also open source and only difference is it's implemented with a slightly different approach - taking a more strongly typed and organised approach in the codebase - but achieves the same results.

Hope that helps you decide, it's hard as there isn't really a wrong decision here.

    regards

    Marc
