I've recently started new project, using umbraco cms.
as the project is written on MVC3, I coosed umbraco v 5 and decided to migrate to v 4.10 after it's release.
the question is: how much information (database, macros, templates, document types etc...) I'll be able just copy/paste into v 4.10 and what I'll have to recreate again?
I also have a MVC3 project with a umbraco 5 living within.
What's the easiest way to convert this v5 to a v4.10? I recon all doctypes must be redone, but I would think one could then just transfer all v5 nodes into the v4.10 using the API's.
But how do I handle the web-forms app (v4.10 is essentially a webforms app), in a MVC app?
Do you have any special feeling to belts? Have you realized that belt play a very important role in dressing up ypurself? If "yes",you can try: http://www.beltshop.org/
migration from 5 to 4.10
hello everyone!
I've recently started new project, using umbraco cms.
as the project is written on MVC3, I coosed umbraco v 5 and decided to migrate to v 4.10 after it's release.
the question is: how much information (database, macros, templates, document types etc...) I'll be able just copy/paste into v 4.10 and what I'll have to recreate again?
thanks :)
I second this,
I also have a MVC3 project with a umbraco 5 living within.
I'm also interested in this subject matter, I'm not even 100% sure yet if 4.10 is ready to take over an entire v5 website.
I would be interested to hear anyones throughts on this.
