upgrade from 4.6.1 to the lastest version

Hi guys,

i want to upgrade my umbraco(4.6.1) website to the lastest version.

I have see the following upgrade path:

v2.1.x » v3.0.0 » v3.0.6 » v4.0.1 » v4.0.4.2
          » v4.5.0 » v4.5.2 » v4.6.1 » v4.7.0 » v4.7.2
          » v4.8.1 » v4.9.0
          » v4.10.1 » v4.11.10 » v6.0.0 (apply the Path Fixup patch) » v6.0.7 » v6.1.3

If I want to upgrade to the 4.11.10, Should I follow the path(v4.6.1 » v4.7.0 » v4.7.2 » v4.8.1 » v4.9.0 » v4.10.1 » v4.11.10 ) step by step. Actually I try to upgrade from 4.6.1 to 4.11.10 directly. but it failed.

So I think , I should upgrade v4.6.1 » v4.7.0 » v4.7.2 » v4.8.1 » v4.9.0 » v4.10.1 » v4.11.10 , I should not miss any version, I must upgrade 6 times in order to upgrade to v4.11.10. Is that right?

Also If I am trying to do these, after I have finished ( http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Installation/Upgrading/general ),   I should Also finished ( http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Installation/Upgrading/version-specific )

Is that right?
