We're currently running a website with Umbraco 4.6.1 and want to upgrade to 7.2.1. It contains more than a thousand documents that are delivered by XSLT. We've got a license for Courier 1. Now we're thinking about how to migrate the website:
Setting up a new instance with 7.2.1 and trying Courier 2 to do the job of migrating.
Setting up a new instance with 7.2.1 and migrating everything manually.
Stepping through the upgrade path, being very unsure of getting everything done right in the end.
Is there a preferred way of upgrading from such an old version of Umbraco? Would Courier 2 be able to migrate between completely different versions of Umbraco? Would you discourage from any of the three ways mentioned above?
