I think that the rule of thumb is to asume that packages marked as being compatible with 4.0.x can not be used with 4.5.x.
Since the package creator does not seem to be aware of this question of yours, I think the approach could be to make a local install of umbraco 4.5.x and try to install the package and then see what happens. Be sure to have a 4.0.x install to compare with off course...:-)
A bit cumbersome approach, but maybe that's the only way for you to find out unless the creater answers at some point.
Not compatible with v.4.5.1?
I see you specifically mention being compatible with version 4.0. Does this mean it is not compatible with version 4.51?
Hello?

The core team tried out a bunch of packages, and it seems that this one passed the test.
