I haven't heard of an issue like this before, so if this is still a problem, could you provide some more details about the version you have installed?
If you look in your bin folder, there should be both a Skybrud.Social.dll and Skybrud.Social.Umbraco.dll. The versions of these should help determining the problem ;)
Skybrud.social.dll replaced by package
Installation of this package breaks the site if you have a newer version of the Skybrud Social for Umbraco 7 package installed.
