Looks like there is a missing null check on the search term. I'll include that in the next update. For now simply put a single character space for the search term and the js errors should go away.
The zoom is attempting to display the best view based on the location of the markers displayed from the search. Since there is only a single marker, because of no search, it settles on the central point on the map. I'm adding Set Zoom Level option on next revision to allow you to override the 'Set Best View' feature.

Yes, it works with a space (allready tried that) but then the map zooms to the lowest level...?!
