    1.1 compatible with 7.3?

    Hello there,

I was wondering if the current version of Doc Type Grid Editor (1.1--and I suppose for that matter, Nested Content) will be compatible with Umbraco 7.3? It seems that some major fixes to the grid's structure are coming.

    Thanks!

    Hi Shola,

    Thanks for raising the question.

I see no reason why it wouldn't work with v7.3.0. I haven't tried the beta version yet, so not sure what has changed in terms of the Grid yet.

Is there anything specific that concerns you?

    Thanks,
    - Lee

    Hi Lee,

I suppose I was referring to the changes here: http://issues.umbraco.org/issue/U4-6148 which seemed major--however, 1.1 might very well be ok with it. I haven't tried 7.3 beta yet either, I was just curious if you guys have.

BTW, this package is an extremely elegant solution to setting free all datatypes for the grid--I'll chime in with everybody else saying it should be in the core.

We'll give it a go with v7.3 beta... I think DTGE will be fine with it.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Cheers,

Has anyone tried this in 7.3RC? I'm getting 404 on adding a doctype to the grid and on loading the page, e.g.

Request error: The URL returned a 404 (not found):
    /1116
    with data:
    "id=f15d5514-48ff-2efa-9f81-dc5a768dbb35&docType=b11518cd-0539-4dd1-aa5b-163f9dd88ed8&value=%7B%22name%22%3A%22item+name%22%2C%22foo%22%3A%22this+is%22%2C%22bar%22%3A%22a+test%22%7D&viewPath=%2FViews%2FPartials%2F"

I have created the necessary views in the views/partials folder

    many thanks

I just solved my problem :)

turns out if you have a page with a grid already existing and you then install and start to use DTGE you will get this error.

Solved it by creating a new page and creating the grid item with new content

Hope this helps someone else if they come across this.

Tom, I also had this problem but only when publishing a page with a DTGE-enabled grid. Turns out I needed to set a template for the containing doctype to avoid those 404 API errors. I had copied an existing doctype and completely overlooked it would not have a default template.

Also FYI All I am using DTGE on v7.3 and its working like a charm, great package guys!
