First off i would like to thank you guys for a great package. When i reach 70 karma points i will definitely give the package a vote :-).
Now to my problem. I have some issues when sorting the "embedded" elements in the backoffice. I have created an Embedded Content data type, with one Textstring content control and one Textbox multiple content control.
I add my Embedded Content data type to one of my document types and made an xlst file to render the data. Then i started filling a page with content and saved the page. So far so good, the content was displayed on the page as expected. Then i tried to sort the elements, which went fine until i hit save and publish which triggered this yellow screen of death:
I did some research and found out that i had some special characters in my textboxes such as & and <. So i tried removing some of them, sorting again and hit save. Sddenly it worked again, i then tried to add an & sign again, which triggered the error again when i saved. Is this a know issue ?
Here's some extra info: Umbraco 4.6.1 installation, running on MSSQL Server 2008 Express
Tell me you nedd more info or if i need to explain further.
And thanks for bringing the bug to my attention. I have encountered a couple of bugs concerning 'special' characters in other areas, e.g. with regards to the simple editor where you would have markup text like <b> and & as well. I fixed it on these occasions but haven't applied these 'fixes' the other 2 textboxes. Will try to find some time today or tomorrow to fix it and post an update, will let you know here once that is done.
just uploaded v 1.1.1 of Embedded Content which should fix your issue. Unfortunately I get an error when I try to edit the package page, so I'm afraid you'll have to download the package yourself from here. Pleaes let me know if the error still occurs!
Sorting bug.
When I open a for the first time and do sort and publish, everything is ok.
If I resort and publish, then nothing happens.
Need to open the page again from the content tree in order do and save sort.
