Bug 1.1.1 and umbraco 4.7 and textString

    Hello,

I have install Embedded Content 1.1.1 on Umbraco 4.7.

I added in my Embedded Content data type just 1 field textString (without description)

On the content node, when I add a value and click "Add", the textString value is always "|value2|" and never the text that I have entered...

    Anyone else have that ?

    Hi fabrice,

thanks for bringing that up. I haven' t actually tested Embedded Content on 4.7 yet, will look into it asap.

    Cheers,

    Sascha

    Hi fabrice,

Just did a test on 4.7.0RC, installed the package, created a new Embedded Content data type with just one property, a textstring, and put the EC data type on a document type. After creating a page with that document type it all worked perfectly fine for me in Firefox. Strange.

The |value2| text you get is basically the placeholder for the value in the xml schema for one EC item of the type you've defined. The strange part is that it just adds a count to the 'value' string for each item, and if you get 'value2' it seems that you have to have more than one property on your Embedded Content data type?

Anyways, that doesn't really help solve your issue. Did you have a go with another browser perhaps? Would you be able to take a couple of screen shots of your Embedded Content type definition and how it looks when you are editing on the content node?

Hope we can figure this out,

    Sascha

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply.

I have uninstall the package and reinstall it but this time without clicking on Update schema pre 1.09 to 1.1.1 (I don't know why clicked on it the first time...as I didn't have an old version installed).

    And now it's working perfect.

Thank you for your amazing package !!

    Hello Sasha,

I have the problem again :) I found out that it depends on how I name the field textString.

For example, if I name it "Legend" or "Caption" (both name and alias) I have the "|valuex|" problem described above. But if I name it "text" then it's working.... weird....

Excactly Sasha I've got the same. I named field Caption and I coudn't save the value it shows that strange  "|value2|" all the time

BTW. I used media picker as one of the fields and it shows in the title (editor's section) nothing meaning number (media node id) - I would love to see there a picture from media repository - any chance for that in the near future?

BTW.2. How is the "Show in title? - Improvements" status?

    Hi guys,

Looks like I finally found a cure for it, thanks for all your input. Please have a go at version 1.1.3 of the Embedded Content package, just uploaded. Please let me know if you still encounter any issues.

@Erni: cheers for your input, however it will take a while until I can get to that I'm afraid. I'll keep you posted.

    Thanks,

    Sascha
