Very nice
package/extension! This is the package I was waiting for in Version 7. Now we
have almost a DAMP alternative for version 7 ;-)
Is it possible to open the image information in a popup like DAMP did? In this
situation the user leaves the content editor page and lose the changes/selected
images if they haven’t published it yet.
Are popup’s
(lightboxes) anyway possible in general in Umbraco 7?
Unfortunately, not all properties on a page trigger the "unsaved changes" dialog (I think RTE for example is a problem) if you navigate away from the content you are editing, so you can lose changes. The main point of getting into the media section at the right place/node structure, is for the editor to be able to do all things possible with the media, like move, edit, delete etc in "full size".
I think the plan from HQ for Umbraco Core is to open media information in a slide-in to the right, like the picker dialog. In that way it becomes a "mini media section" and you won't navigate away from the content you are editing.
I haven't seen any lightboxes being used and the dialogs, for example the picker that slides in from the right, seems to be the UI that's recommended.
using the latest version of Umbraco, 7.1.8, the Extended Media Picker seems to only return the image ID and not the URL to the image, same as the built-in Media Picker. Am I missing something?
Suggestion: open image information in popup
