When in the administration in IE7 or IE7 compatibility mode the
textbox to enter the text is gone. In IE developer tools I can make it
appear with a minor edit to the html. In the table with id of
"recaptcha_table" - changing the first <tr> height from 73 to 100
the textbox displays to enter the code.
What controls that html code? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks

The code for the html code is controlled by the included recaptcha.dll from http://code.google.com/p/recaptcha/downloads/list?q=label:aspnetlib-Latest.
You could try to replace the one in your /bin folder with the latest one from Google.
