Shouldn't be anything special necessary; just install as you would for a new installation.
Since newer versions of Formulate are available via NuGet, I would recommend removing all installed Formulate files and then installing via NuGet (makes upgrading easier).
Although I don't anticipate any data loss, to avoid any data loss be sure to backup the database (the "FormulateSubmission" table in particular, though that might not have even existing in v0.6.1) and the files in ~/App_Data/Formulate.
Upgrade to latest version
A colleague has been trialling v0.6.1 and would like to upgrade to the latest version.
Are there any special instructions, or do we install it using Umbraco's package installation procedures?
He is worried he might lose data in the upgrade process.
Thanks
Muiris

Thanks Nicholas
so far, everything seems to be in order.
He had started a wish list, but I think many of the issues he had on version 0.6.1 may have been addressed in this latest release.
