    Hi Kenneth,

I think that zoom could be very useful in Image Cropper. Like this - http://mypictr.com/

It does pretty much the same thing though. Zoom vs. Target WxH. Thomas suggested using features in the jCrop component to view a smaller version of the actual image to better cope with large images, typically uploaded directly from camera. I'm also considering implementing a datatype based on this 3rd party zoom/pan widget: http://www.netzgesta.de/shiftzoom/caribbean.html.

Kenneth, I think that would be awesome, as i know some i my clients upload camera-photos without reseizing first, which can be quite unhandy :-) Hope it will be possible to define width and height of the shiftzoom in the datatype...

And btw thanks for your fantasic ImageCropper!

How do you implement it in a template?

I'd suggest to watch the video on how to install, configure and use the Image cropper in your project. You don't exactly implement the datatype into your templates. Depending on the crops you've defined in your datatype, you'll get a bunch of extra images in the media folder, which you can reference from anywhere (either directly into a template or via xslt through a macro)

    Cheers,

    /Dirk
