I have not yet tried it but I am hoping to do some testing in the next few days as I am releasing a new version with changes submitted by  Richard Soeteman. If you try it before I do please post any issues in here so that they can be addressed.

Having quickly tried this today, no it does not work with 4.5 because of some breaking changes to the Tree. I will try and sort this ASAP and update the source.

Hello Simon, I love your package, for me it's such an important functionality that it should be part of the Umbraco core. What is the current status of development? I'm migrating a website to Umbraco and want to import the full media folder structure (1000+ files and images in 60 folders). Rather than reinventing the wheel I would like to use Richard Soeteman's code, but cannot find it in Codeplex.

I have integrated Richards changes and also fixed a bug identified by Ben however there is an issue with 4.5 that I have not had time to resolve as yet due to my client work having to come first as that's what pays the bills ;) Do you need the package for 4.5?

Thanks for your reply. I can install it in 4.0.x, do the import and upgrade after that.

There's one more question though: In my tests it seems that every image is imported in a separate physical folder, is that still the case? I would rather have them imported in folders that reflect the Umbraco folder nodes, so that I can automatically update my HMTL with a matrix (replace folder x is by 443, folder y by 556, etc.).

Hi Simon, I think this plugin is awesome and should be included as built-in umbraco feature.
I really need this package to import large video files in my current project (umbraco 4.5.2)

I installed the package and I get no errors. But there is no "import" option in media nodes

Any chances to update to 4.5.2 ?

    Thanks!

Please read the thread above - this is not yet compatible with 4.5.x because of breaking changes with the tree. It is on my list of things to do but as of yet I have not had the time to get this sorted.

Somewhat later than I intended I was up at 5am this morning and have been working on an update for this. I now have what I think is a 4.5.x ready version of the package for testing. If you are interested in testing this later on today please drop me a line and I will send you the package before I make it publicly available.

Included in this update is the automatic generation of thumbnail images for imported images as well as fixing the missing icon in the context menu for the tree.

    Cheers, Simon
